Your Destination in Snohomish for Craft Beer

S2S History

S2S has gone through quite a great journey to get to where it is today.

Originally started in 2014, our brewery has always focused on one important belief: "brew great beer and people will come".  Trends may come and go, we believe that by focusing on beers built decidedly true to style will inspire our community just as much as they inspire us, we’ve been able to do some great things together, and keep at it for the long haul.

While that is a little cliché, the belief still holds true today.  Focus on creating an excellent craft beer that people want to enjoy before or after their adventure in the PNW.  Combined with a fun environment that makes people feel welcomed.  There are plenty of breweries in the Snohomish area that people can enjoy, but if you want a warm, friendly atmosphere with great food, there is really only one S2S.

What Is Craft Beer?

The Brewer's Association in Boulder, Colorado defines 'craft beer' as beer made by a brewer that is small, independent, and traditional.

At S2S, we take our craft very seriously and it shows in the quality of our beer.  The beer you come in to enjoy is brewed right here, in our facility in Snohomish.  Come in early enough for lunch and you will see our team working to create the IPA's, Kölsch, Pale Ale's or any of the other beer varietals we have on tap.

When we put together our recipes for the beers you are about to enjoy, we want them obviously to taste good, but it is also important for the beers to be True to Style.  Meaning a Hef needs to taste like a Hef and include traditional Hef ingredients (grains, hops and yeast).

Adam Frantz, head brewer Sound to Summit

Meet Adam Frantz

Head Brewer

Not only is he our head brewer, but we think he is an overall good dude.  With a degree in Marine Biology, Adam worked at the prestigious Monterrey Aquarium.  After taking some time off to travel, Adam got brew fever and went and pursued a degree in Brewing Science and Engineering from the American Brewers Guild.  Meticulous on the process of making beer, from recipe creation to proper sanitization process, nothing jeopardizes the final product you get to enjoy.
Adam and his wife have two young boys and enjoys spending time with the family on bike rides and other fun family activities.

Meet Doug & Christine Milnor

Principal Owners

Both Native Washingtonians, Doug & Chris fell in love with Sound to Summit when it first opened.  After Doug graduated with his Craft Brewery Certification, they sought the perfect location to fulfill his dream of working in the beer industry after a career in the corporate world.  With support from his wonderful wife, along with a few friends, they purchased the brewery in 2020 and look to build on the great craft beer that has long been its trademark.
