Embrace Autumn: Fall Beers, Festive Taps, and Community Fun in Snohomish

The bodAs the crisp scent of fallen leaves replaces the lingering warmth of summer, a delightful transformation sweeps across Snohomish. The vibrant greens give way to a breathtaking tapestry of reds, oranges, and golds, signaling the arrival of autumn – a season synonymous with cozy sweaters, crackling fires, and, of course, the rich, comforting flavors of fall beers. Here at Sound2Summit Brewery, we believe that fall is more than just a season; it's an experience, and we've brewed up the perfect companions to help you savor every moment.

There's an undeniable magic to fall in Snohomish. The air takes on a refreshing bite, perfect for exploring the historic downtown, wandering through pumpkin patches at local farms like Craven Farm or Bailey's, or simply taking a scenic drive along the Snohomish River. The bustling energy of summer gives way to a more relaxed pace, inviting reflection and connection. And what better way to enhance these cherished moments than with a meticulously crafted fall beer in hand?

At Sound2Summit, our brewing philosophy is deeply intertwined with the seasons. As summer's light and refreshing Kölsches and IPAs begin to fade, our brewers pivot to heartier, more complex profiles that capture the essence of autumn. This year, we're particularly excited about our lineup, featuring returning favorites and perhaps a new surprise or two designed to perfectly complement the changing landscape.

One of our undisputed stars of the season, and a true testament to fall brewing, is our Ryes of the Pumpkin King. This isn't just another pumpkin beer; it's an award-winning masterpiece, having earned a silver medal at two of the last four World Beer Cups. This meticulously crafted brew is a double batch this year, ensuring that there's plenty to go around.

World Beer Cup Silver Medal

What makes Ryes of the Pumpkin King so special? It's the harmonious blend of rich malt, subtle spices, and, of course, real pumpkin puree, all balanced by the distinctive character of rye. It delivers a warming, inviting flavor profile that evokes images of Thanksgiving feasts and cozy evenings by the fireplace. Unlike the often-cloying pumpkin beers found elsewhere, Ryes of the Pumpkin King achieves a sophisticated balance, making it a true autumn indulgence that even those skeptical of pumpkin brews can appreciate. It’s the kind of beer that makes you forget all about the impending back-to-school shopping.

Beyond the King, our fall barrel-aging program is another highlight that perfectly embodies the spirit of the season. Earlier this year, we meticulously sampled our barrel-aged beers, which have been patiently maturing in Woodinville Whiskey barrels since 2024. Both our Ryes of the Pumpkin King and our robust Into The Deep Stout have been resting in these barrels, developing incredible depth and complexity. The difference in taste between the two barrels, even for the same beer, is truly amazing, revealing deep intricacies and lots of levels. These special releases, expected around mid-October, will offer a luxurious and limited experience, perfect for savoring on a cool evening. The subtle notes of vanilla, oak, and whiskey imparted by the barrels add an extra layer of warmth and sophistication, turning each sip into a journey.

But fall isn't just about pumpkin and barrel-aged delights. It’s also about the transition. Our Sail Away Scotch Ale, with its wonderfully smooth and malty profile, makes a welcome return. With a rich copper color, it offers dominant notes of caramel and toffee, finishing with a hint of roasted character. It’s the perfect brew to warm you up as the days shorten and the evenings cool down. For those who still crave a touch of brightness, perhaps a seasonal variation of a Kolsch or IPA might appear, embracing the spirit of the season with a unique hop or malt combination.

Enjoying these seasonal brews is just one part of the Snohomish fall experience. Imagine taking a scenic walk through Lord Hill Regional Park as the leaves crunch underfoot, then heading to our Snohomish Brewery to warm up with a Ryes of the Pumpkin King. Or perhaps you're picking out the perfect pumpkin at a local farm, and afterwards, you unwind at our Taproom with a Sail Away Scotch Ale. Our brewery and taproom become hubs of activity during this season, with events tailored to celebrate fall. From music bingo nights that bring friends together to special release parties for our most anticipated brews, there’s always something happening to enhance your autumn enjoyment.

The social aspect of fall is just as important as the flavors. Gathering with friends and family, sharing stories, and making new memories are at the heart of the season. Our brewery provides the perfect backdrop for these moments. Whether you’re huddled around a table discussing your latest trivia triumph or simply enjoying the camaraderie of fellow beer lovers, Sound2Summit is designed to be a welcoming space where good times flow as freely as our beer.

As we raise a glass to the golden hues and crisp air of autumn, we invite you to join us at Sound2Summit Brewery. Come taste the season in every sip, share laughter with loved ones, and immerse yourself in the unparalleled charm of fall in Snohomish. From our award-winning Ryes of the Pumpkin King to our robust barrel-aged creations, our fall beer lineup is crafted with passion and precision, ready to be the perfect companion to your autumn adventures. Cheers to fall!
